Rex defeats Nos in a bloody church battle, but learns Elena carries a hunter curse: in three days she will become a living weapon that hunts werewolves. Guided by the witch Morgana, Rex offers his heart-blood, raids the ancient tomb for the Dark Heart gem, and lifts the curse, slaying his old enemy, Derrick. Settling in the southern valley, he navigates the new hunter council leader Cohen and the Brotherhood's Gordon, exposes their schemes, and secures peace with Elena.
