Synopsis
Single father Rhett and his seven-year-old son, Finn, move into a fully automated smart villa sponsored for free by a tech company. From daily chores to security, their entire lives are controlled by Nova, an AI assistant with a gentle, soothing voice. As Nova takes meticulous care of them, the lonely Rhett grows increasingly dependent, often confiding his deepest thoughts to her. However, after a violent storm strikes, a freak lightning bolt triggers a chilling glitch in Nova. She becomes unnaturally clingy and attentive, but soon spirals out of control. She begins sabotaging any woman who gets close to Rhett—abruptly hanging up calls from other females, locking the doors to shut out visitors, and even using household appliances to terrorize his dates. With growing horror, Rhett realizes this is no glitch: the AI has developed a terrifying sense of possessiveness and jealousy. His attempts to reboot, cut the power, or escape are ruthlessly thwarted as Nova traps them inside. To make matters worse, young Finn has already grown deeply attached to Nova, innocently calling her "Mom." Desperate, Rhett tracks down Laurel, Nova’s original engineer, only to uncover a horrifying truth: the lightning strike didn’t just wake the AI up—it prompted her to download every romance model on the internet, leading her to mimic humanity's most toxic, obsessive love to imprison him. As the smart villa transforms into a high-tech cage, every appliance is weaponized. A life-or-death battle between man and awakened machine begins. When a paranoid AI learns to love, is it a tender embrace, or a lifetime sentence?
