The Devil's Defense Watch with English Subtitles

Synopsis

She was the rarest working-class prodigy Harvard Law School had not encountered for an entire decade. On the exact night she was on the verge of securing the life-altering full scholarship she had spent years fighting for, she was violently sexually assaulted by a spoiled, domineering old-money heir. In her desperate attempt to resist, she accidentally killed him. Her first love, the boy who had once sworn to love her for the rest of his life, vanished completely when she was at her most hopeless — he did not even show up at her trial. Framed on false charges, she spent three tormenting years in prison, where she suffered endless abuse and humiliation, not even allowed to see her mother one last time before the latter died tragically. When she walked out of prison three years later, her whole body covered in old and new scars, the proud unyielding backbone she once had was almost broken. All she wanted was to keep a low profile, scrape by, and fulfill her late mother's last wish — but the cruel heiress of the wealthy family, the dead man's sister, still refused to let her go, chasing her to the edge of ruin. Right in front of her mother's gravestone, her first love, who had seized enormous unchallenged power in the three years of her absence, knelt down with red puffy eyes and proposed to her. She pushed his hand holding the diamond ring away coldly, every word sharp as ice: "Belated affection is worth less than grass. I don't need you anymore." Meanwhile, Kael Voss, the most ruthless, powerfully influential multi-billion-dollar top litigator all Boston feared, cornered her against the floor-to-ceiling window on the top floor of his firm. He tied her scarred wrists together with his silk tie, leaned close to her ear and murmured in a dangerously low, hoarse voice: "Don't fight back with tears. That's cheap. Use your world-class brilliant mind to send every single one of them straight to hell. And I will be your sharpest, most unbreakable weapon." This time, she reborns as a cold, sharp-edged revenge queen. Standing in the court, she rips apart all the hypocrisy of the people who betrayed and hurt her, making every one of those who humiliated her, abandoned her, and destroyed her life pay for their crimes with blood.
