In the vortex of power within the Blackwood alchemical empire, Sebastian, heir to the family, falls in love with Elara, a black-market alchemist — but the family forces them apart. On a stormy night, Elara gives birth to twins, Ivy and Rowan, and etches the key to the family vault into their bloodline through an alchemical totem. As a child, Rowan is kidnapped and loses his memory. Elara dies of a broken heart, entrusting her keepsake — the Memory Vessel — to her daughter Ivy before her death.
