“Love Scout” Hits Record Ratings While “When the Stars Gossip” Drops to Series Low

SBS’s Love Scout continues its impressive rise, while tvN’s When the Stars Gossip struggles to maintain its audience.

On January 11, Love Scout, starring Han Ji Min and Lee Jun Hyuk, achieved its highest ratings yet with its fourth episode. According to Nielsen Korea, the episode scored a nationwide average rating of 11.3 percent, setting a new record for the show. Among viewers aged 20 to 49, the drama was the most-watched program of the entire week, earning a strong 4.1 percent rating in this key demographic.

Meanwhile, tvN’s When the Stars Gossip experienced a sharp decline in viewership. The third episode of the space romance drama fell to an all-time low with an average nationwide rating of 2.2 percent, raising concerns about its future performance.

In the same time slot as Love Scout, MBC’s Motel California held steady with an average nationwide rating of 3.8 percent for its second episode.

Other dramas saw mixed results:

  • JTBC’s The Tale of Lady Ok dropped significantly, scoring 7.7 percent nationwide.
  • Channel A’s Check in Hanyang dipped to 2.3 percent.
  • KBS 2TV’s Iron Family remained dominant as the most-watched Saturday show with a strong 17.8 percent rating.

With Love Scout capturing hearts and When the Stars Gossip facing challenges, it’s an eventful time for K-drama fans.
